Most traditional luminosity selections only allow modification and refinement using a levels adjustment layer. This method doesn’t always allow you to make the selections that you need. Using ADPpanel+Pro you have much more power in your Luminosity Mask selection. In this tutorial I show how you can use the B&W adjustment that comes with luminosity selections to make a much more accurate and powerful selection.

Thanks Ted, it’s appreciated. I’m thinking of doing a Luminosity road show across Canada at some point, so I may catch up with you in Toronto one day.

I look forward to our potential meeting with pleasure. As an adherent to Ansel Adams’ Zone System I am naturally drawn to the ADPpanel. I keep telling neophytes that photography is a science AND an art

    Hi Aaron,
I just finished watching the Luminosity Masks Unmasked series and will be doing them again with the images you provided. I’ve seen a great variety of tutorials on various photography topics in the last 5 years and this series was the best on any topic I’ve watched by far. You present everything in an extremely clear and detailed manner. I believe I’ll be able to use ADP Panel Pro readily after going through the series one more time. I know you covered this particular aspect of creating masks with the B&W conversion tool in the series but this was fun to watch because it is both a great image with an even better enhancement.

      Thanks Mark,

I really appreciate your compliments on the video series, it means a lot. After running many classroom workshops on Luminosity Masks and getting direct and immediate feedback it helped greatly in ensuring I could put a comprehensive video workshop together. Yes, the photo of ornagutan is one that I keep going back to, such an amazing face.

You have now created one the most powerful Lumenosity Masking applications I have seen or used and I have them. You also provide probably the best tutorial videos that explain the use of all the different aspects of the LM panel.

Hi Stephen, thank you very much, I appreciate the support and the great comments. I work hard to make Luminosity Masks a useful tool for everyone and to make my videos as informative as possible.
