Often during editing we are trying to remove items (tonal ranges) from our selections because we don’t want them affected during our adjustments. One of the better ways of removing unwanted areas in a selection is to use Subtraction Masks. This method of creating a Luminosity Mask is best used when you want to work in a tonal range such as your lights or darks, but you don’t want to affect the lightest or darkest areas of the image.
Subtraction Masks allow us to do this quite easily. First making a selection of the tonal range you want to work in, then making a second selection of the area you don’t want affected, ADPpanel+Pro will complete the subtraction for you, removing the unwanted selection. This is a great method for targeting a tonal range and removing unwanted subjects.
The video below will cover how the Subtraction Masks section of the panel works.
