Lights, Midtones and Darks Luminosity Masks
Most often when Luminosity Masks are mentioned the Lights, Midtones and Darks Luminosity Masks are the masks that are being used. Traditionally these masks would often be referred to as Lights (1 to 6), Darks (1 to 6) and Midtones (1-6). This was due to the method in which the Luminosity Masks were created and it was found that those 6 masks were the only ones that could be of any use in editing. This is no longer the case, early in 2015 I found that these masks could be modified allowing you to create any version of a mask with a simple adjustment, opening a massive door of opportunities in mask creation.
The Lights and Darks Luminosity Masks in ADPpanel+Pro first create a 16-bit Luminosity Mask using the Calculations method instead of the traditional 8-bit Channel Masks. You now have the ability in real time to modify those masks easily and visually to create any mask you like and are no longer restricted to the 1-6 selections that you may have seen in previous panels.
The video below will cover how the Lights, Midtones and Darks Luminosity Mask section of the panel works.
