Over the past 18 years using Photoshop, I have developed many unique ways of achieving the results I am after in my photo editing as well as turning many of my everyday workflow tools into Photoshop Actions. I am now starting to share these tools and actions here on my Free Downloads page. Most of the actions found on this page are useable with any version of Photoshop from CS5 and newer, with some being useable in earlier versions.
To download any of the free tools available here, simply enter your name and e-mail in the form directly under each action banner and you will receive an encrypted download link shortly after, to download your free actions. Downloads sign you up to receive my newsletter that will keep you up to date with future free offers and other offerings from Aaron Dowling Photography. If you choose to no longer receive the newsletters, simply press unsubscribe at the bottom of the newsletter when you receive it.
If there are actions that you would like to see made available please leave a comment at the bottom of the page, or if you just want to make a comment on one of the free downloads available, I’d like to hear from you.
6 Stage Editing Workflow
This 11 page document discusses a detailed workflow that I use in my image editing. It’s not a bible full of rules, but a guide to achieving more consistent results. It will not give you a step by step guide to creating that perfect image, but instead an order and some structure to your editing. This workflow establishes a structure to your editing and a ground work for you to develop your own style.

Presenting images on the internet with borders appears to be quite popular today. I have often seen questions in Social Media forums asking how to do it. I have created an action to make the process very simple. Once you have completed the edit on your photo and saved your file, all you simply do now is run the action and it will resize your image, create an image border and drop shadow as well as the image title.

If you’re looking to move on from the free Luminosity Action Panel above, to a much more powerful tool. I have developed a very powerful action panel called ADPpanel+Pro, although it’s not free, it’s incredible value for money. I have also developed a 7.5 hour video workshop on the use of Luminosity Masks, designed to teach you Luminosity Masks from the ground up. This is part of my premium video series, although not free, you’ll never wonder again how to use or apply luminosity masks to get the most from your images.
